The OWA yagi style was invented by WA3FET. This type of antenna is already known for quite some years and still remains one of the best of its kind.
The OWA (aswell as the F-yagi) has a direct 50 ohms impedance.NO matching system is needed. This will reduce “loss”.
Beeing a 50 ohms direct feed antenna the antenna is less sensitve for rain/snow and nearby objects. (swr/gain-effect).
The best thing about the OWA is that it has a relative high values (gain/fb etc) which remain high over a wide frequency.
The OWA is the only antenna which has such high values over such a wide frequency range.
Besides these positive electrical aspects, the OWA produced by HPSD is of outstanding mechanical quality.
